R. Bradley Yates, Jr.


Lawyer Bradley Yates earned his Bachelor Degree from the University of South Carolina and his Juris Doctor degree from the Appalachian School of Law. While in law school, he served as an Honor Court Justice with the Student Bar Association, on the Editorial Board of the Appalachian Natural Resource Law Journal, and was vice president of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity and Environmental Law Society.

In addition, Bradley’s interest and involvement in the environment enabled him to serve as a Law Clerk with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington D.C.

After graduating from law school and passing the South Carolina Bar Exam Bradley moved back to his hometown of Conway, SC. He then spent a year serving as Law Clerk to the Honorable Michael G. Nettles in the South Carolina Circuit Court. Here, Bradley participated in all aspects of the General Sessions and Common Pleas court system. He thereafter joined the Lovely Law Firm where he focused primarily in Criminal Defense, Traffic Defense, Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation Law. Bradley later left the Lovely Law Firm and started his own legal practice, The Yates Firm, LLC. He now lives in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Bradley is admitted to practice in all South Carolina Courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.

When he is not in the office, he enjoys fishing and hunting, traveling, and spending time in the outdoors.

Paul E. Lawson II


Attorney Paul Lawson is a native of Conway, SC and is happy to be able to serve the citizens of the community he has always called home.

Paul received both his undergraduate degree and his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. While in law school Paul discovered his love for the courtroom and went on to serve as the Chief Justice of the Mock Trial Bar. As a member of the Mock Trial Bar, Paul competed in competitions throughout the country.

Following law school, Paul moved back to his hometown of Conway and served as Law Clerk for the Honorable William H. Seals, Jr. of the South Carolina Circuit Court. Through this opportunity, he was exposed to a variety of civil and criminal cases and developed a great relationship with many of his fellow attorneys throughout Horry County and South Carolina. This hands on experience was invaluable in providing Paul with an inside look at the judicial system.

After his clerkship, Paul was employed by a large state-wide civil defense law firm. Working mainly in the field of insurance litigation, he was able to gain an understanding of how insurance companies evaluate and process claims. Then, Paul joined Attorney Bradley Yates to form Yates & Lawson, LLC.

All of Paul’s experience has given him a unique understanding of both the South Carolina judicial system and the legal community as a whole. This experience allows Paul to be results driven while providing his clients with professional, competent, and personal legal services.

When not in the office, Paul enjoys cooking, traveling, being on the water, and cheering on the Gamecocks.
